Me. Patrice Blais is a general-practice lawyer and member of the Québec Bar. He specializes in the field of cooperative and not-for-profit law. In this branch, a range of services has been developed to help you and your particular organization best meet your individual needs.

Me. Blais has spent many years working with cooperatives and not-for-profits, including but not limited to the Concordia Student Broadcasting Corporation, the Fédération des coopératives québécoises en milieu scolaire, and COCo, the Centre for Community Organizations based in Montreal. He is currently teaching courses in not-for-profit law at Concordia University where he serves as Vice President Greivances and Arbitration for the Concordia University Part Time Faculty Association.

He has extensive experience in drafting by-laws, chairing meetings according to Robert's Rules of Order and the Code Morin, training groups on their powers and responsibilities as directors, and wading through the vast amounts of necessary and sometimes intimidating paperwork that comes with the territory of any properly and legally established organization.

Me. Blais has worked on a federal and provincial level, engaging in such projects as obtaining a
broadcasting license for a radio station, drawing up letters patents to create organizations,
perparing for audits, and establishing legal financial controls to ensure proper money management and decrease the risk of fraud.
